This is mostly an easy day until the final, short ascent to the hut. The trail is good, with a lot of wooden planks – which often seem unnecessary. There are some muddy and rocky sections, but they only make up a small part of the day.
At 1000 meters in elevation, Tjäktja is the highest cabin on the Kungsleden. It is also one of the smallest cabins, with just one building used for guests. Due to the short distance from Alesjaure, many people skip Tjäktja and continue to Sälka. However, I think this is one of the most scenic huts on the trail and from just outside, you have fantastic views north over Alisvaggi.
